Does the Bible Predict Coming War in the Middle East?
According to the Prophet Zechariah, there will be a day that God will gather all of the nations of the world in battle against the city of Jerusalem to destroy the Jews from the face of the earth. Zecariah 14:2 "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle." This is quite frightening when you consider the fact that this will also include the United States of America and all of the other pro-Israeli nations. But when you consider the anti-Israel sentiment that we see in America at this time, you can understand how this could happen.
However, before this great event happens, there are still two more wars that the Bible talks about that Israel must endure. One is mentioned in Ezekiel Chapter 38 and 39, which will be with Russia and her Muslim allies when they will be defeated supernaturally by God. But prior to that, there will be a war between Israel and her nearer neighbors, which she will have to fight herself, but will win with the help of God.
In the Aug. 4, 2006 Jerusalem Watchman there was a headline that read.
ONLY A WAR THAT GOD CAN WIN
In the article, they quoted Ps 83:1-18 beginning with the first five verses where Israel cries out to God with these words,
1: Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2: For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
3: They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4: They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5: For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
And then in the next two verses, they name their enemies by name:
6: The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
7: Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
With a prayer for their defeat:
9: Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
10: Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
11: Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
12: Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
13: O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
14: As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
15: So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
16: Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
17: Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
18: That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
These are the very nations that surround Israel on the North, South, East, and West at the present time.
President Obama is threatening to veto any Security Council vote for a Palestinian State. Obama has said that "Peace will not come through the U.N." That leaves only two other places, either the peace table or war. The Times is actually calling for Obama not to use his veto powers saying, "A veto of Palestinian membership would intensify Arab perceptions of American double standards." Of course they don't talk about defending our friends from a hostile land grab. There is no negotiation with terrorists, so they leave Israel with no other choice. Following are quotes from transcripts of Pres. Obama's UN speech Sept. 21, 2011..
"One year ago, I stood at this podium and I called for an independent Palestine. I believed then, and I believe now, that the Palestinian people deserve a state of their own. …
One year later, despite extensive efforts by America and others, the parties have not bridged their differences. Faced with this stalemate, I put forward a new basis for negotiations in May of this year. It's well known to all of us here. Israelis must know that any agreement provides assurances for their security. Palestinians deserve to know the territorial basis of their state." …
"We seek a future where Palestinians live in a sovereign state of their own, with no limit to what they can achieve." … ". There's no question that the Palestinians have seen that vision delayed for too long. It is precisely because we believe so strongly in the aspirations of the Palestinian people that America has invested so much time and so much effort in the building of a Palestinian state, and the negotiations that can deliver a Palestinian state." … "
"But understand this as well: America's commitment to Israel's security is unshakeable. Our friendship with Israel is deep and enduring. And so we believe that any lasting peace must acknowledge the very real security concerns that Israel faces every single day. And so we believe that any lasting peace must acknowledge the very real security concerns that Israel faces every single day.
Let us be honest with ourselves: Israel is surrounded by neighbors that have waged repeated wars against it. Israel's citizens have been killed by rockets fired at their houses and suicide bombs on their buses. Israel's children come of age knowing that throughout the region, other children are taught to hate them. Israel, a small country of less than eight million people, look out at a world where leaders of much larger nations threaten to wipe it off of the map. The Jewish people carry the burden of centuries of exile and persecution, and fresh memories of knowing that six million people were killed simply because of who they are. Those are facts. They cannot be denied.
The Jewish people have forged a successful state in their historic homeland. Israel deserves recognition." …
White House National Security Council spokesman, Ben Rhodes, equivocated Thursday (9/22), after Obama met P.A. President Mahmoud Abbas in New York. telling the press what President Obama still refuses to say publicly, and never said in his speech to the UN Wednesday that "we would have to oppose any action at the UN Security Council including, if necessary, vetoing," a bid by the Palestinian Authority for full voting-member status.
New York Times Predicts Violent War
The N.Y. Times recently predicted that violent war is coming to Israel as the Palestinians demand Independence. A top Israeli Army officer is also predicting that if the UN votes to seize Jerusalem, there will be all out war fomented by Muslims in Egypt, Iran and Turkey. Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman warned Wednesday that there will be "harsh and grave consequences if the Palestinians persist with their plan to seek UN membership as a state." He says "Palestinians are planning an 'unprecedented bloodbath' after the UN move, and Prime Minister Netanyahu is meeting with Defense Minister Ehud Barak to prepare for war."
Israeli General: "All-out War" coming from "Radical Islamic Winter" to kill Jews.
A top Israeli Army officer predicted "all-out war" will be initiated by Muslims from Egypt, Turkey, and Iran next month, after the U.N. vote to seize Jerusalem on 20 Sept.
"Recent revolutions in the Arab world and the deteriorating ties with Turkey are raising the likelihood of a regional war in the Middle East, IDF Home Front Command Chief, Major General Eyal Eisenberg warned Monday," reports Ynet News and Joel Rosenberg. "'It looks like the Arab Spring, but it can also be a 'radical Islamic winter,' he said in a speech at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv."
"'This leads us to the conclusion that through a long-term process, the likelihood of an all-out war is increasingly growing,' the IDF general said. 'Iran has not abandoned its nuclear program. The opposite is true; it continues full steam ahead,' he said. 'In Egypt, the army is collapsing under the burden of regular security operations...'"
"Referring to what he characterized as the possibility of a 'radical Islamic winter,' Major-General Eisenberg said: 'This raises the likelihood of an all-out, total war, with the possibility of weapons of mass destruction being used"
The Obama Administration has failed in their half-hearted efforts to persuade Palestinian President Abbas to stop seeking a UN vote. "We have exhausted all opportunities so we have to go to the U.N.," Abbas said.
China has announced it will support seizing Jerusalem from Israel for an Independent Palestine, and Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair is negotiating to delay the UN vote.
It remains unclear whether the Obama Administration will veto a bid for all-out Palestinian statehood, but the New York Times reports: "The United States does not have enough support to block a vote by the General Assembly to elevate the status of the Palestinians' nonvoting observer 'entity' to that of a nonvoting observer 'state.' The change would pave the way for the Palestinians...to pursue cases against Israel at the International Criminal Court."
In the same Times article it said, 127 nations, including Russia and China, are now ready to vote for a Palestinian State within the present borders of Israel, meaning the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza. Five-hundred thousand Jewish settlers have built in those areas that they are talking about.
When prominent Americans of the high rank of President Obama have turned against Israel there is not much hope that the general population will continue to support their position of sovereignty either.
Jimmy Carter long ago threw his support behind a Palestinian state and is advising the President not to veto a UN vote to seize Jerusalem from Israel. Even the conservative Ron Paul has some pretty alarming things to say about the nation of Israel as reported recently by the press. "Presidential Candidate Ron Paul (R-TX) said this week Iran should be armed with nuclear weapons, and America should not defend Israel, even if Iran annihilates Jews." Ron Paul was one of only 6 Congressmen who voted "NO" in a 407-6 vote on H.Res 268 to help Israel last month, when 13 liberal Democrats voted "PRESENT."
2006: "The Imam said this regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time....we don't accept this claim [of the holocaust]...the Zionists can establish their state in Europe. You offer part of Europe and we will support it....The Zionist regime will be wiped out soon the same way the Soviet Union was, and humanity will achieve freedom."
2008: "Those who think they can revive the stinking corpse of the usurping and fake Israeli regime...are seriously mistaken. Today the reason for the Zionist regime's existence is questioned, and this regime is on its way to annihilation...You should know that the criminal and terrorist Zionist regime...has reached the end of its work and will soon disappear off the geographical scene."
May 2011: " ... like a cancer cell that spreads through the body, this regime infects any region. It must be removed from the body." [He's still saying it, folks...]
Ahmadinejad is the dictator Ron Paul wants to arm with nuclear weapons? Seriously? If it wasn't bad enough when Ron Paul promoted marijuana and homosexualized the military, Ron Paul wants nukes for Muslim terrorists who are already launching Rockets now killing Jews?
Editor's Note: As to Iran (Persia) we are confident that God will keep his word as he has promised, as revealed in Ezekiel Chapters 38 and 39, when this nation comes against Israel along with Russia, Syria, Turkey, and other Moslem allies. They will be destroyed supernaturally by God Himself.
